When we found out we were pregnant with our second child, the first baby item I thought about was a double stroller. Did we need one? Should it be a side-by-side, jogger or tandem style? How much should I spend? It took me a while to find the right one, but after a lot of online searching, I found an amazing side-by-side double stroller that didn’t break the bank – the Delta Cruzer.
Why we love it
- It’s affordable! In my opinion, without trying these competitors, it’s comparable to Nuna TRVL Double or Zoe Double, but for a fraction of the cost. The Cruzer is under $300, and sometimes goes on sale. For example, right now it is listed on Amazon for $261 vs the Zoe Twin for $530 or the Nuna TRVL Double for $850.
- This stroller is cute! I love the black design with brown leatherette handles.
- It’s powerful enough for long walks, but also compact enough for travel. This stroller isn’t small, but has no trouble getting through doorways or folding up for a trunk or airplane. For flights, this is a stroller you would check at the gate. The Zoe Twin recommends you buy bigger wheels, at an additional cost. I love that this stroller comes with big enough wheels already.
- The seats recline & offer a 5-point harness buckle with canopies for shade.
- Storage is great! The bottom basket can hold plenty of things – diaper bag, water bottles, shopping bags, etc. Plus, there are small pockets on each seat where I usually put my phone and keys.
What it doesn’t do
- This stroller can’t hold an infant carseat. For that reason, I didn’t use this until Everett was 3-4 months old. The other strollers I mentioned earlier can hold a car seat, which is so nice, but also a lot more to pay for that feature. We had a Nuna stroller that I loved – it was an older version of the Mixx that has a click-in attachment for a infant car seat that we used a lot in the beginning and still use when Emmy doesn’t need to be in the stroller.
- No cup holder – it would be easy enough to add a universal stroller
Do you need one?
If you have multiple kids, or are about to, but you’re not sure if you need a double stroller or not, here’s what to consider. Does your older child/toddler still love the stroller? Our oldest was 2 at the time and still very much loved her stroller. I knew she would still want to ride in one.
Do you like going out and traveling? I really enjoy long walks with the kids, trips to the mall, and traveling. For those reasons, I knew we need a double stroller that could hold both of them, provide a place for on-go-naps, and hold all of our things.
Why not a tandem?
I think tandem double strollers, such as the Nuna Next or Uppa Baby Vista look awesome! However, they are a lot bulkier for travel. I also don’t think Emmy would have enjoyed being below her brother. They love to sit side-by-side, and even hold hands! ♥️ We also had a wonderful Nuna stroller and I didn’t feel like we needed another “investment” stroller.
If you have any questions on this stroller, comment below! I love to talk about it, and have used it for over a year now. Here’s a video where I talk about it more.
